m4p™ Ni-625

Ni-base for laser-based powder bed fusion

m4p™ Ni-625 is a metal powder primarily alloyed with nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and niobium, providing excellent resistance under various oxidizing and reducing conditions. The high molybdenum content endows components made from m4p™ Ni-625 with high resistance to pitting, cracking, and stress corrosion cracking. The performance characteristics of parts made from m4p™ Ni-625 can be influenced by heat treatment. Depending on the application, the properties can be optimized for either creep rupture strength at elevated temperatures (above 600°C) or optimal corrosion resistance.

Due to its positive mechanical and corrosive properties, m4p™ Ni-625 is suitable for a variety of applications. It is particularly useful for heavily loaded components in engine and power plant technology, as well as process engineering parts in the chemical industry.

m4p™ Ni-718

Ni base for laser-based powder bed fusion

m4p™ Ni-718 is a metal powder primarily alloyed with nickel, chromium, iron, and molybdenum, with additional elements such as niobium, titanium, and aluminum allowing for precipitation hardening. This material is widely used in aerospace, the chemical industry, and various areas of power generation and energy conversion, including engine and power plant technology.

The exceptionally versatile and advantageous properties of m4p™ Ni-718 include:

  • High corrosion resistance to many media due to its high chromium and molybdenum contents.
  • High oxidation resistance up to 980°C.
  • High temperature resistance up to 700°C.
  • High creep resistance and good fatigue behavior even at high temperatures.
  • Precipitation hardenable.

For applications in chloride- and sulfide-containing media in the oil-producing industry, Ni-718API is a standardized material variant. This variant’s special suitability is primarily due to tighter limitations on carbon and niobium contents.

m4p™ Ni-X

Ni base for laser-based powder bed fusion

m4p™ Ni-X is a powdered nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy known for its high oxidation resistance and high-temperature strength, with a particular emphasis on the combination of these properties. Its excellent resistance to stress corrosion in petrochemical industry applications makes m4p™ Ni-X a proven alternative to the widely used Inconel-718 (m4p™ Ni-718).

The material properties, primarily based on solid solution hardening, enable usage at operating temperatures up to 1200°C. This makes it suitable for manufacturing components in gas turbines, industrial furnaces, and chemical processing.

The material properties can be further optimized for specific applications through downstream heat treatments such as solution annealing or hot isostatic pressing (HIP).
