PCM 2200 Printer

Patternless Casting Manufacturing (PCM)

With build volumes of 2200X1000X800mm, PCM 2200 provides rapid prototyping for big size intricate casting parts for various industries such as military, aerospace and vessel etc.

It can save the trouble of a physical pattern to create a mold and also avoid the high expense of creating a mold for casting. The printed sand molds can accommodate a variety of casting materials such as aluminum, iron and steel etc. This is also used for low volume batch production.

The manufacturing Process doesn’t require mold, Sand Mold can be formed directly from file
The manufacturing time is around 5 – 7 days as compared to about 120 days in Traditional foundries
Professional mold making skills are not required, after only a week’s training, workers can operate on their own
These are high Automation, easy operation and environmentally friendly.
Can achieve integrated modeling - reduce design constraints and machining volume, casting dimensional accuracy is easy to control.
Mold and core are formed at the same time to improve the positioning accuracy.
No need of pattern draft and the weight of the casting parts can be reduced.
It is available to make casting parts of any shape in high precision, especially the intricate ones or those with free-form surfaces.
Perfectly reflects the designer’s intention and precisely implements the pattern design.
In case of any problem on the design, modify the 3D drawings, then recreation can be started.

Guangdong Fenghua Zhuoli Technology Co., Ltd (initials: FHZL) is the pioneer leading the commercialization of sand mold 3D printing technology in China since 2002.

Aerospace

The aerospace industry is one of the main markets for 3D Printing or Additive Manufacturing. This sector has a long history of early adopters, manufacturers find their needs being fulfilled. Environmental performance restrictions, competitive market conditions and high manufacturing cost are just some of the challenges that aerospace faces today.

Automobiles

The main driver in 3D printing for vehicles is not printing the entire vehicle, but a move to 3D printing tooling and end-use parts. According to SmarTech, prototyping has only penetrated automotive prototyping by 15% to 20%. Ford, for example, has been 3D printing prototypes for over 20 years to decrease design time.

General Engineering

When engineering challenging designs, 3D printing let’s you try new prototypes, address problems and find solutions as you go, all in a matter of hours. It also allows you to work with complex internal structures and geometries, something traditional methods just can’t offer.

Casting

Casting is one of the areas which first identified the advantages of 3D Printing. Infact, one major application of Stereo Lithography (SLA) is in Vacuum casting. This doesn’t mean Investment casting doesn’t find a place.
